Please choose the desired option in the Iron Sight Installation drop down menu above. Will you install my sights/suppressor sights if I send them in with my slide? Training in point shooting will make a transition to a dot easier and faster. With sights you can follow the front up but with a dot, the presentation creates more speed. I have found that years of training in point shooting and transitioning to sights as distance increased has served me well. I set up a pistol to practice with a dot becasue my eysight loss will require a transition. After a short while, you’ll notice better presentation and then if you switch back to your irons, you’ll notice you’ll have improved there as well. New things aren’t always immediately better than the old without practice.Į. ![]() Change battery every year on your birthday (or Christmas, or whatever)Ĭ. Get a better dot with a longer battery life.ī. ![]() Is it just me? Am I being a fossil and not getting w the times of new technology?Ī. I always trained myself to turn on the rifle prior to the days work but it is a secondary arm. I’m sure with regular PCI’s it won’t be an issue for the 1k + battery life but something mental perhaps is causing me not to rely on it. However my biggest hang up is relying on the batteries. All in all I didn’t notice much of a difference in target acquisition speed and accuracy over the irons. Ok so I listened to you all and mounted my cortex venom from my patrol rifle to my sig 220 ms yesterday to see what all the fuss is about. That was in reference to the M&P guy in the story that I replied to who said it was a waste of money after one range trip. Like I said it’s Probly a mental thing on my end. I am pretty proficient with it my only hang up is relying on something electronic. You have to get good at the new technique to realize the performance benefit from it, can't just do it once and say fuck it. Most people will just do it once and say "oh I was better the old way." You gotta factor in the dip in performance when going from a less effective technique that you're well practiced at, to a more-effective technique that you are a novice at. He comes over and draws the pistol, proceeds to close his left eye and lean his head to the right. I asked him to stop by and we can shoot it some. He tells me "I'm way slower, and this seems like a waste of money." ![]()
